Meet the Pole Sessions Instructors

Claire
Claire is the founder of Pole Sessions and has been dancing for a number of years. She is fully qualified and has attended lessons around the country with some of the worlds best pole dancers and is also self-taught. Claire is determined and can perform tricks and moves to a super advanced level and currently teaches the intermediate and advanced girls. Claire opened Pole Sessions to try and rid pole dancing of the stigma attached to it and has performed at charity events and also entered competitions and won first place. Claire is very caring and patient and has also formed friendships with her students. Claire also teaches the aerial hoop and aerial silks. Claire is in the Pole Sessions Sparkles and performs at many events in the UK

Francesca
Francesca is one of our beginner instructors, she has such a wonderful personality and every student loves her! Francesca brings both style and grace to Pole Sessions and no matter what trick she performs she looks amazing! Francesca was one of Pole Sessions first students and after showing her ability to pick up pole fitness at a very fast rate she started teaching. Francesca is in the Pole Sessions Sparkles and performs at many events in the UK
Natalie

Natalie is one of our beginner instructors, she is kind and caring and is trained to a very high level in Pole Fitness. Natalie is very patient and knows exactly how to explain even the hardest of moves. Natalie was the original guinea pig for all of the courses before Pole Sessions opened and after showing she could do every move thrown at her she started teaching. Natalie is in the Pole Sessions Sparkles and performs at many events in the UK


Rochelle
Rochelle is one of our beginner instructors; she is kind and caring and is trained to a very high level in Pole Fitness. Rochelle is both caring and fun! She will make you feel right at home when you first join! Rochelle is also great at helping you gain your flexibility. Rochelle is in the Pole Sessions Sparkles and performs at many events in the UK

Sinead
Sinead is one of our Intermediate instructors; she is trained to a very high standard and can perform tricks and moves and combine strength with grace! Pleasant, caring and fun Sinead will guide you through your Pole dance journey! Sinead is in the Pole Sessions Sparkles and performs at many events in the UK
   

Kim
Kim is our newest instructor; she teaches the Intermediate classes and is trained to a very high standard. Kim is a fantastic and caring person and is fantastic at explaining each trick and spin in an easy to follow way. Kim is in the Pole Sessions Sparkles and performs at many events in the UK

Zoe


Zoe is also one of our Intermediate instructors; she is trained to a very high standard and can perform tricks and moves that will leave you shocked! Zoe is very patient and can change the class to suit individuals. Zoe has been training in Pole Fitness for many years and after completing the lessons at Pole Sessions she decided to teach for us.

Sally

Sally teaches at mixed levels and also teaches private lessons. She is trained to the highest level and has the personality to match! Sally will certainly make a class fun too! Sally has been poling for years now and comes along to every class without fail! Sally is currently in Turkey and will return to teaching in October. Sally is in the Pole Sessions Sparkles and performs at many events in the UK

 

Kaytie 

Kaytie is our Zumba instructor; she is so much fun in class. Kaytie has tons of energy and always has a smile on her face! She advertises as the BEST Zumba classes in Salford, but I think it is more like in the World! Kaytie is trained in many forms of dance and knows exactly how to get the party started!

Kerry

Kerry is our Burlesque instructor; Kerry has the ability to transform you into the goddess that you are whilst also making you have a fun, sexy and exciting class! Kerry is patient, caring and friendly and you will have the time of your life in one of her Burlesque classes. We promise you will never take a pair of gloves off the same way again!

Tracey

Tracey is our Belly Dance instructor; having begun her dance career in the late 80s in Manchester, she then went on to study both in the UK with international teachers and with Zaza in Paris. Tracey’s main passion is Egyptian style and with many trips and tuition in Egypt and on-going tuition here in the UK, Tracey now both teaches and performs across the UK and Europe.

Aerial Silk Classes

Aerial Silks / Aerial Tissu classes – Coming Soon

Come experience a beautiful new way of expression and movement.
Aerial Silks, Tissu or Fabric are two long pieces of soft fabric that hang from a single point, that people wrap themselves in. You can create many beautiful poses and stunning dance routines. You will increase your strength, grace and flexibility, while you climb the silks and move your body into amazing poses and shapes. Drops and slides are an exciting and fun part of learning these circus apparatuses.
What you’ll do in class

The 1 hour classes include a warm up, strength training, focusing on core and lower abs, conditioning tips, and stretching. You'll learn at your own pace and level. You will learn climbing, foot locks, poses, turns, tricks and hanging in the fabric. Increase your strength and stamina while learning body control, balance and flexibility.

Beginners will focus on proper body position, muscle usage, basic positions, and basic balances. You will learn basic positions, holds and poses, some of which do not require leaving the ground entirely.
More advanced students will learn more difficult skills, choreography and artistry. As your strength and confidence increase, you'll be amazed at what you are capable of doing.

Appropriate for all levels, with no previous experience required.
Aerial silks are available as private lessons or group sessions. Group sessions are limited to the number of students and you will need to book to attend. For private lessons, please contact us to arrange.

What to Wear
It is important to wear clothing that covers the backs of your knees and under your arms. You will want a top that can be tucked in to give your back protection. Long stretch pants such as leggings and a tight-fitting top are suggested. Shorts or vest tops are not recommended, and loose clothing may get in the way. No jewellery, fake tan, moisturiser, buttons or zips please.

Aerial Hoop classes

Aerial Hoop / Aerial Ring – Coming Soon
Come experience a beautiful new way of expression and movement.
Hoop, also known as cerceau or lyra, is another wonderful circus apparatus in which the student learns beautiful manoeuvres and shapes while spinning on a large metal hoop suspended in the air. You can create amazing and beautiful poses and routines on the hoop and classes are always exciting. Each class is also structured to each student’s level and ability.
What you’ll do in class
The 1 hour classes include a warm up, strength training, focusing on core and lower abs, conditioning tips, and stretching. You'll learn at your own pace and level. You will learn various ways to mount the hoop and poses using the hoop. These classes are extremely fun.

Belly Dancing Lessons

Belly Dancing – Tuesday 6pm

Belly dancing is a beautiful form of exercise and dance. It not only tones your entire body but it also strengthens the core muscles and pelvic floor muscles. Learn the dance, rediscover your femininity, tone your waist & hips ... or simply for an enjoyable hour of movement to wonderful music in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Teachers cover many styles, including elegant Egyptian cabaret, energetic Turkish, Lebanese, American Tribal Style (ATS), tribal fusion, Shakira-style belly dance moves & belly dance for fitness.

What you’ll learn in class

Whatever your level of experience - from a complete beginner who's never taken any form of movement class to one of our pole or Zumba girls - this will be a class for you!
The hour long class starts with a warm up and some stretches, then you will progress to learning some belly dancing moves and put them together in a simple routine that you can follow the instructor so you do not need any experience.

About Tracey our Instructor

Having begun her dance career in the late 80s in Manchester, she then went on to study both in the UK with international teachers and with Zaza in Paris.

Tracey’s main passion is Egyptian style and with many trips and tuition in Egypt and on-going tuition here in the UK, Tracey now both teaches and performs across the UK and Europe.

Over the last three years she has helped develop and deliver one of the newer and fastest growing dance festivals in Europe, Raqs Britannia.


What to wear
Loose gym style clothes are best with bare feet, as you need to be able to move around. You can also wear a belly dance scarf around your hips. Alternately you can wear any belly dancing outfit.

Burlesque Classes with Kerry

Burlesque – Wednesdays at 6pm
Our burlesque classes focus on performance and complement our pole fitness classes for those wanting to turn their workout into something more fun. This is available for beginners and also those with burlesque experience!
There are two different types of Burlesque; there is the classic burlesque which people see in old movies and this is very slow and sexy, and also neo burlesque which is the more modern, faster form of dance that you may see in pop videos.
Burlesque is all about the tease. It combines confidence, facial expressions and eye contact and at Pole Sessions we will help you gain this and also show you some sexy poses and facial expressions. We can tell a story with just your face. Burlesque is a type of performance bringing together a sizzling dance style with elaborate vintage costumes, cool retro tunes and a lot of sassy fun!

What you will learn

Burlesque is about drawing out your inner sensuality and finding ways to express it that suit you, no matter what your style, age, size, body type, background or ability. You will start off in the beginners where you explore poses, walks, confidence, eye contact and even chose a burlesque name that will help you transform into a burlesque goddess in every class! You will also explore props such as gloves, necklaces, feather boas and learn how to incorporate them into a sexy routine!
When you are ready to enter the intermediate and advanced you will use props such as the chairs, nipple tassels (over your top of course!), fans and even umbrellas! We do lots of sexy dance routines and even explore ways to remove your clothes (without actually stripping). We will also do a little bit of Polesque which includes the pole in your burlesque routines (Don’t worry though its only using the pole not doing advanced tricks).

Appropriate for all levels, with no previous experience required.

What to wear

Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in, but you must be able to move in it!  Leggings and a top are perfectly fine, but we do also encourage people to get a little dressed up for classes as this helps with your self-confidence and also toy make you much more glamorous. Please also wear heels as these help your basic poses and they do look much prettier than a pair of trainers!

Stretch and Flex Classes

Stretch and flex is just like your cool down but much more intensive.

You will be doing stretches to make yourself more flexible. Being flexible improves many aspects of your life, such as improving your daily performance, improving the range of motion of your joints and also improving circulation.

These classes are open to everyone, whether you no exercise or activity to those who come to our other classes like Pole Fitness, Zumba or Burlesque.

You will be shown and achieve how to increase your range of movement, whether it be the splits, Back bends, relieving muscular tension or just simply touching your toes!

The Stretch and Flex classes are on a Wednesday at 8.15pm

The Classes will cost £3 for Half an Hour or £2 if you come to Pole Fitness classes before it.

Pole Fitness
Pole dancing is a unique dance form; it combines flexibility, strength, elegance, and posture in a fun and enjoyable way. Pole dancing never feels like a fitness class, it's never boring, and you will always leave feeling you have had a great workout. At Pole Sessions you will focus on the dance element, combined with routines and athletic moves to ensure you have the best workout possible.

Pole Fitness
Every Tuesday 7pm, Wednesday 7pm and Thursday 7pm

Each class is carefully structured to teach you pole dancing safely and effectively. Pole Sessions cater for levels of abilities. Whether you are an experienced pole dancer or just looking to start, we will have the right course for you. Please see the timetable on the classes’ page for course timetables and levels. These classes are suitable from beginner to advanced and will help you achieve the body you want, whist having fun and making new friends!

Advanced Pole Fitness
Tuesday 8.15pm

This is a class for just the Intermediate and Advanced (must be able to invert).
In this class we will be doing more linking together and advanced moves. You will be on the pole longer and this will offer an all over body workout. The class will also cover strength and techniques to make you super advanced!

Heels Class
First Tuesday of the Month - 8.15pm

This is a fun class! You get to bring your heels and dance around the pole whilst creating fun and exciting routines! This class will help you bring the glamour back into your routines. The maximum amount of students is 20 for the heels classes, so please book in advance to guarantee your place.

What to wear
Shorts and a vest top are best as you need your skin to be able to grip the pole. We do stock shorts if you are unable to find suitable ones. Bare feet, pumps or ballet style shoes are best. For the heels classes you can dress up or just put on any heels you have. (Please note do not wear your favourite heels as they can become damaged on the pole).
